BakkenX is a Norwegian landscape design company specializing in transforming outdoor spaces into functional and aesthetically pleasing environments. Their services encompass the entire process from initial consultation to design, execution, and maintenance, aiming to create gardens and outdoor areas with an ‘X-factor’.
In this project, I led the full-cycle development of a custom WordPress multisite platform tailored to BakkenX’s specific needs. Starting from Figma designs, I translated the concepts into responsive HTML, CSS, and JavaScript templates, ensuring a seamless user experience across devices.
Key features and implementations include:
- Custom WordPress Block Theme: Developed a bespoke block-based theme utilizing Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) to provide flexible content management capabilities.
- Multisite Architecture: Implemented a multisite setup to allow BakkenX to manage multiple sites under a single WordPress installation, facilitating scalability and centralized control.
- Interactive JavaScript Components: Created custom JavaScript sliders for scrollable tabs, enhancing the site’s interactivity and user engagement.
- Gravity Forms Integration: Integrated Gravity Forms to handle inquiries and service requests, streamlining the communication process between clients and the company.
- Job Board Functionality: Added a job board feature to post and manage employment opportunities within the company.
- Advanced Theme Options: Developed comprehensive theme options to allow administrators to customize various aspects of the site’s appearance and functionality without touching code.
